It's The Day Minus One--tomorrow I fly. And when I got up today at 4:30 am I discovered that my Mac Air--which I'm taking so that I can work in Europe--is crapped. I have a 11:15 appointment at the Apple Store Genius Bar.
I'm rather nervous about this trip--alone in Italy for 5 weeks. Will I be able to get set up so that I can work conveniently? I'm booked in the Florence youth hostel where we stayed 3 years ago, for 14 Euo a night so that's ok. And I've been reviewing the language. I can understand--kinda--but can't talk.
When Haydn was getting ready to head for the UK to write his London Symphonies, all his friends tried to talk him out of it. "But, Papa," Mozart said, "You don't understand the language." And of course Haydn replied, "Everybody understands my language."
